NJ CSC Extends Telework

Dear Members,

At its meeting on June 7, the Civil Service Commission approved a one-year extension of the Telework Pilot Program, without alteration from its current form.

Again, this extension allows the State and CWA ample time to continue to negotiate and resolve Telework issues, working towards a permanent solution. This move also provides certainty to members and Departments rather than creating anxiety in the coming weeks and leaving it for last-minute action at the end of the month.

Extending the pilot does not constrain CWA’s bargaining demands. Office space, technology, flexible work arrangements, and other logistical issues must be handled carefully. We will continue to work through this process with the State to arrive at a robust, equitable telework program for the membership today and in the future.
